Dr. Vadir Sottelo is an award-winning director, producer, and current State Councilor for Culture and the Arts of Jalisco (2025–2028). At the helm of Novatrice Studios, he has forged a disruptive auteur signature in contemporary cinema, utilizing the atmospheres of psychological horror, suspense, and dark fantasy as catalysts to explore human rights, resistance, and diversity. Backed by a Ph.D. in Human Rights and film studies, his cinematography challenges structures of oppression to reclaim dignity. His filmography has achieved official selection in more than 210 international festivals, accumulating over 50 awards and recognitions within the film and cultural circuit.
