Rafael Lobo
Director
Rafael Lobo is a partner at the production company Levante Filmes. He holds a degree in Audiovisual Studies and a Master’s in Communication from the University of Brasília (UnB). His master’s thesis explores the filmography of director David Cronenberg, bridging philosophy and the horror genre through the concept of worldview. His filmmaking journey began with the short film Confinado (2010), which marked his debut as a writer and director. The film earned him awards for Best Director and Best Editing. In 2011, alongside six other artists from Brasília, Rafael co-founded Espaço Laje, a hub for artistic creation. Born out of this collective environment and extensive collaboration, he wrote and directed the short film Palhaços Tristes (Sad Clowns) in 2013, further deepening his exploration of the horror genre.
