Pato Rivera
Director
Pato Rivera is a screenwriter and film director. He began his training at the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) University Rally in 2017, where he wrote and directed the short film Lucas el Grande, winner of the Audience Award and Best Cinematography.
In 2020, he directed Tierra, a finalist short film at the Porto Cesareo Festival in Italy. That same year, he wrote and directed El Silencio, produced as part of a nationwide awareness campaign.
In 2023, he won the Jury Prize at the Desafío Buñuel México with Memoria de un pez, an accolade that allowed him to film El mal de Inés in Spain and represent Mexico at Desafío Buñuel España.
In 2024, he directed the short film Un lugar en Tierra Prometida, selected for the Short Film Corner at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. That same year, he filmed La Cubana, an episode of the series A la Medianoche, a collection of stories inspired by the legends of the Comarca Lagunera.
