Juan Pablo Rios

Director, screenwriter, and researcher. Professor at the ITM Film School. PhD in Arts. He wrote and directed the documentary feature films Quijote (2012) and El Retorno (2015). His fiction short films include Rosas rojas y un beso (2011), Hombre (2015), Caramelo (2016), Filius (2020), Starboy (2024), Criatura (2025), and Nativos de la tierra negra (in post-production). He is currently developing the fiction feature films Animales de monte and Total Brutal Black Metal. For several years, he has been researching and writing about a subject he has termed The Cinema of Patience.
