Emanuel G. Guzmán

Emanuel G. Guzmán is a filmmaker from Durango, Mexico. Since 2019, he has studied Directing at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC), where he is currently developing his thesis short film. He has taken part in international emerging cinema encounters such as the Ícaro Festival in Guatemala (2021), and in 2023 he won first place in the national short film category at the Fresnillo Film Festival with Mañana no será así. That same year, he shot his 35mm short film Amor en los tiempos inertes (or Ilusión transitoria), now in the selection process for national and international festivals. In 2024, he was awarded the Programa de Estímulo a la Creación y Desarrollo Artístico (PECDA) grant to produce Bulldozer, his first feature documentary about the skateboarding scene in Durango, with which he also participated in the Plataforma MX – Taller Norte project incubator in Mexico City.
