The monstrous does not arrive from the outside; it seeps into the everyday, contaminating both bodies and landscapes. Much like desire, the monstrous is a revolution: it threatens social structures, warping and dislocating the orientation of the senses. It invents new forms, driving bodies toward a territory of the other.
