The girl

On a scorching summer day in 1966, "La Nena," a social worker from Corrientes, transports Itatí across the Paraná River so she can continue her treatment at the leper colony on Isla del Cerrito, in Chaco. Everything seems to be going well, until Itatí regrets returning to the island. From that moment on, La Nena and the island become a magnet, drawing in as much interest as they do a desire to escape.
